The Blue Kids are Coming!

With the help of the Home Depot of Auburn, we recently launched a "Blue Kids" campaign with the intent of recruiting more CASA and A2Y volunteers. These blue cut-outs will be appearing around Placer County over the next few months with the goal of helping us find CASA volunteers and Mentors for 50 more children. Pass the word around, and help us recruit new volunteers!

Child Advocates launches Adult 2 Youth Mentors
Recently the Placer County Office of Education awarded Child Advocates with a 2-year, $160,000 grant to launch a mentoring program for youth who are at risk of entering either the child welfare or juvenile justice systems, and young adults who are former foster youth. We are launching the program in April, and we expect to have a new website up by May. This program will provide one-on-one adult to youth mentors, and will incorporate the group mentoring activities of Generation Fate. For more information about this exciting program, contact our Case Supervisor Nick Cunningham. Check back here in the spring for more updates.
